Most folks like to close their blinds or drapes at night as they are preparing for a bed for privacy, especially in their bedrooms. Yet, according to a 2007 CBS poll, 55% of 1,000 individuals surveyed say they are at their best first thing of a morning. So, if you’re like me and really enjoy waking up to the sun, having the shades closed can hinder the joy of slowly wakening to the rising sun.
Well, not any longer! There are now shades that can be programmed to open and close on any schedule you choose, even those with solar sensing panels to open when the intensity of the sunlight reaches a certain level. The shades may also be programmed so that they close again in the afternoon to block out the most intense portion of the afternoon sun, only to re-open an evening to show off the sunset.
Of course, one may also program the shades to be voice-activated, so whether you’re an Alexa or Siri fan, all you have to do is say, “Siri, open the blinds,” and voila, they open to a predetermined level. Each room in the house may be programmed separately to accommodate the various occupants, as the ones in the parents’ bedroom probably are not going to operate on the same schedule as the ones in the teens’.
Having a smart home has never been easier!
